What Will Be Next about Gossip Girls
Dec 25th
Gossip Girl focuses on worldly little girls who join forces against one another. The series, along with such like-minded shows are focused on friends, and most of all on frenemies.
They are so postfemininist that they circle back not just to “Mean Girls,” but to the pre-Friedan era of Clare Boothe Luce and Rona Jaffe.
It’s not actually a step backward of course but more of a mischievous sidestep, a zig after many years of networks’ zagging to catch up with “Sex and the City.”
That series’s selling point was not just sex and designer clothes. It offered the charisma of four stylish, sexy women taking on Manhattan adequately captured the playful, loving tone of the original.
Gossip Girl reversed course and found a way saucily to make a virtue of vacuity and viciousness. It’s better to reign in hell than serve in heaven, especially on a soap opera.
It’s never a good sign when you find yourself cracking a smile at a scene meant to be deathly serious, but that’s where I found myself as she defended herself against Max’s “lies” with Carol’s help in this show.
I could spend hours ranting about the screen time Chivy takes up with relatively little advancement of the storyline, and surely some of you will in the comments. So I’ll try to focus on the positives. What about you?
Asked about the episode, TV Line’s Michael Ausiello said “Intel continues to trickle in and, if what I’m hearing about the episode’s final act is true, it has the potential to be the single greatest hour of my life television ever.”
In Gossip Girl’s milestone 100th episode, the long-awaited royal wedding between Blair and Prince Louis will finally play out. There are several spoilers floating around about exactly what happens during the episode.
All we have to say is poor Dan Humphrey! He never even stood a chance, huh? This could be what many fans of the CW drama have been waiting for!
Check out the just-released promo for the midseason finale of this show, which features a very conflicted Blair apparently attempting to finally choose between Chuck Bass and Prince Louis once and for all above! With the wedding only two months away and the baby’s arrival right around the corner, we’ve been wondering.
How exactly are things going to work with Blair Waldorf as a mother and a princess! Not only that, but is Louis really the father? There are lots of questions, but you can find answers in the next episode of the show. Or you can pay attention to our DVD of this TV series and enjoy yourself.

You see i have been to parties where parents have spent upwards of R5000 onentertainment for the birthday party and for more than 75% of the time the kids at the birthday party were either bored and started fighting with eachother or were hassling their parents. Now where is the sense in that?
It is something a little difficult to put your finger on, you know how sometimes there is that one dad, friend, older brother or cousin that gets stuck in and the kids just adore him! It doesn’t happen intentionally but the birthday party is a hit and the kids don’t stop talking about that one thig they did with whoever it was that paid them some attention. I was that person at birthday parties that i went to, so i decided to offer myself as a service for birthday parties. The Top Television Shows of 2010
Dec 4th
Although the range of media freely available has escalated in the last 10 years, particularly in digital terms, there is still no stopping the growth of television. With 2010 bringing with it production budgets which are usually more inline with a movie shoot, the last year or two has seen some of TV’s biggest, most elaborate shows come to prime-time, with awards and audiences following too. With critics already looking ahead to 2011′s televised output, here are the top TV shows of 2010 in no particular order.
Starting with comedy, 2010 was a good year for some of the more established programmes. Curb Your Enthusiasm just finished its 7th season, despite its writer, producer and star, Larry David, almost continually suggesting the next series will be his last. Likewise The Office, the American spin-off of the Ricky Gervais British classic, has gone from strength-to-strength and now has a team of ex-Simpsons writers keeping it fresh each episode.
When it comes to hugely successful international television programs, dramas and sit-coms were the big winners in 2010 though. After 5 seasons of mind-boggling plot lines, mystery, frustration and flash-forwarding, Lost came to its final episode in 2010, which managed to wrap up many of the questions that have been raised over the last 6 seasons. Though not quite on the same record-breaking scale as Lost, another consistent hit throughout the last year is Dexter. Slightly twisted, gruesome and not for the faint hearted, this tale of double-life serial killer and forensics expert Dexter is in-line for a 5th season to start soon. Similarly, vampires haven’t just been making waves in the cinema in 2010 either, as True Blood can testify. This show, which portrays the difficulties and repercussions of humans and vampires co-existing in the same town, has reenergised the genre for prime-time television.
The irony of a hit TV show being based on a real-life hit advertising agency may be lost on some viewers, but Mad Men’s smooth dialogue, perfect casting and life-like portrayal of 60s America have already made it a cult hit.
Of course, a round up of the year’s highest-grossing TV shows couldn’t be complete without at least one place given to reality TV. American Idol returned for its 9th season in 2010, with producers already gearing up for 2011′s return, and similarly Dancing With The Stars has only seen the franchise grow in the run-up to 2011. Thanks to the rise in digital television and Sky HD boxes, it is easier for fans to now record the most popular shows and watch them, in hi-def, at a time that suits them.
Keep Your Camera Clean From Dirt and Dust
Oct 13th
Just because you take your digital camera out over the weekend should not be excuse enough for you not to clean it regularly. Camera maintenance is imperative, unless you take it out one day and fret about those scratches visible on the lens. Dirt and dust on the lens render the pictures useless. They do it no favor and make it look shoddy and sloppy. Your pictures become an object of ridicule for all those who come and see what you have clicked. End result? You shoot the pictures all over again after cleaning the lenses. You should have shown some wisdom and done the cleaning earlier to avert a situation as frustrating as this. Lesson to be learnt: never procrastinate or be careless, A regular clean will ensure a regular sheen.
Follow these instructions given below:
-Purchase a lens cap. Use it on your camera when it is not being used. Most importantly, make sure that the lens cap itself is clean of any dust or dirt before you go ahead and attach it on the camera lens. Remember, the lens is the most important part of the whole thing. At times, people pay a lot of money to have it in the form of Digital Lens Rental or Canon Camera Lens Rental.
-Be a little innovative, and keep an ultraviolet filter on your camera. Dust and debris stay away. The lens stays safe as well. UV Filters are not that expensive either and a good one will definitely not have any hand in the way pictures come out eventually. If you have multiple lenses in your camera, then you might have to purchase one for each.
-Never change lenses frequently. Every time you do a change, you run the risk of letting dust get inside your camera, image sensor and the back of your lens as well. Choose a place that is free of dust and then do the change. Things will stay good.
-A can of compressed air used on the camera lens and inside the camera will serve you good. This is one of the best ways to ensure that your whole set up stays clean and free of all dust and debris. Remember, you have paid a lot of money in Digital Lens Rental and Canon camera Lens Rental for the lens. A slip up might prove you dearly.
-Try using a cleansing fluid with a certain concentration of alcohol on the camera lens. You can do this with your hand after you apply oil on them to make them moist. Use the fluid with a dust free cleaning cloth. A word of caution, never pour it directly as it might enter your camera body. Also make sure that there is no dirt on the lens.
These are some of the best proven ways to keep your digital camera and lenses clean. There are no better ways than these. Not that they have been taken right out of the bible, just that experts over the years have tried them and realized that they work indeed and bring in results.
Most of them are new age methods. They are tried, tested and only after their confirmation as effective methods are they being recommended to everyone with a digital camera. They keep the camera and the lenses as safe as they can. Keeping your camera away from all this should be your top priority. Get your priorities right and you will see that your camera never gets affected from all this and stays clean all the time.
Digital Tech Explained
Sep 7th
Trying to buy a new TV can be a difficult process. You will be confronted with a variety of TV offers, numbers, statics, specifications, and other details of TV design which can seem confusing and weird. Let’s try to make some sense of the different features and measurements which you will see associated with new TVs.
First of all, let’s look at the different technologies available. The main types of flat screen TVs are plasma and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). There are also projectors, although these are much less common and have different factors to consider. They can be an effective way to create a very large viewing area though – they can go much larger than your typical 60″ flat screen TV. Plasma TVs generally have a better picture than an LCD TC offers, and are better for a controlled home theatre environment. However, plasmas also have very bad glare issues, and aren’t suitable for environments where the lighting can’t be controlled. For the typical front room which has several windows, you may be better off going with an LCD TV. They don’t look bad, and don’t have the glare issues that plasmas have.
Next, let’s tackle resolution. HD starts at 720p, although most HDTVs are 1080p. Resolution is essentially a measure of the size of the picture, and not necessarily the quality. In this case, the numbers reflect the number of vertical lines of resolution – or the number of pixels up and down the screen. A well-produced 1080p movie can look great; however Blu-ray disks are currently the only 1080p media offered. Streaming High-Definition TV is only 720p. While 1080p is better, it isn’t completely necessary. The “p” after the number stands for “progressive,” and is the opposite of “i,” for “interlaced.” Progressive refreshes the entire scree each frame (usually 24 times a second), while interlaced only refreshes half of the screen each time, effectively halving your resolution. You want to get a “p” television.
The actual picture quality is affected by a number of factors which can be hard to see. You should check out the stats offered by a TV for contrast, brightness, and colour accuracy. Ultimately, these things can be very hard to judge for yourself, and you will probably want to look at professional reviews. Professional reviewers use very precise instruments to measure these things, and have very trained eves to spot extremely subtle differences.
The absolute most important thing about a TV is that it looks good to you. Although it is nice to have a high contrast ration or accurate colour reproduction, it won’t matter that much to you if you can’t tell a difference. In addition to reading professional reviews, you should go into stores and look at the televisions, just to see which ones you like most.
